Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your Last Chance Japanese account and the data linked to it. The app is run by the independent developer of Last Chance Japanese.
In the app (fastest)
1. Open Last Chance Japanese.
2. Go to Settings → Your data.
3. Tap Delete my data and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately, on the device and on our servers, whether or not you saved your progress to an account. If you want a copy first, tap Export my data before deleting.
Without the app
If you saved your progress with Apple or Google and no longer have the app installed, email privacy@lastchancejapanese.app with the subject Delete my account. Send it from the email address linked to that sign-in (with Apple, this may be a private relay address), or tell us which address it is. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we complete it within 30 days.
If you only used the app as a guest, your data is tied to a random identifier on your device, not to your name or email, so we cannot find it from an email request. Delete it from the app as above before uninstalling. Uninstalling removes everything stored on the device.
What is deleted
Your account and its link to Apple or Google sign-in, any email address we received, your learning history and answers, mastery and review data, onboarding answers, exercise reports, preferences, reminder settings, and push notification tokens.
What is kept, and for how long
Server backups expire within 30 days. We keep a one-way hash of your former device and sync identifiers so a deleted installation cannot sync again; it cannot be used to identify you. Pseudonymous usage analytics (PostHog, up to one year) and crash reports (Sentry, up to 90 days) are not linked to your account; to have analytics records removed as well, mention it in your email.
Apple and Google keep their own records of your sign-in. To stop using your Apple ID with the app, go to Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple on your iPhone. For Google, visit your Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services.
